[QUOTE="Lockysillegitimatechild, post: 2889565, member: 8814"] So wait... when the numbers suited your agenda it was a good point but now they don't numbers don't matter? I didn't have to acknowledge the increase in numbers as a good thing for the game. It wasn't the topic or point I was raising at all, do I have to ackowledge every good deed every club has ever done for the game? And if I were to do that, even you can't deny storm would be very low on that list after all the bad things they have blemished the game with. You are pretty much claiming they are good for the game simply because they are in Victoria, which is ridiculous. What if another franchise was in Victoria? I'm guessing they would have invested a lot more in local development then storm have with their 20 year-3 or 4 nrl player Victorian production line. All those things you point out are good points.... but the storm have had 20 years, 20 YEARS! to put these things in place. "No help from the nrl" is the normal catch cry of storm fans. why should they? I'm a strong advocate for developing the game outside the strongholds of nsw and qld, but if you're a franchise in the nrl for 20 years you should be expected to develop and nurture the local area more then another state. They have invested more in Queensland, and don't tell me they haven't lol the nrl can't fund a development system FOR THEM, the nrl can invest in the game (eg take origin to Melbourne, put a team in Victoria) which they have improved in over the years and that's it! They can't keep on claiming they need the training wheels or claim "poor us" when they are investing heavily in other areas and winning premierships along the way... If the storm said "we will focus on our local systems" I'm sure the nrl might be more willing but they shouldn't have that as encouragement. "But every club does it", but every other club (except the roosters who don't have a local system at all pathetically-their junior teams play in Souths league) have more juniors from their local or surrounding regions then from other states, its that simple....
