After 20 years their under 20's are based in another state.... that is my argument summed up right there. I don't think or expect their entire 17 should be from Victoria, I don't even expect the broncos or Sydney teams to do that! But they can't cry "poor us" or "the nrl needs to put in more to Victoria to help us develop players" like they constantly do when they put in more to another state that already has 3 teams and is a rugby league state. It is "smart" to start with and if they want to win premierships... but to say they (that franchise) have been great for the game because 4000 juniors are now in Victoria is ludicrous. Another franchise may have got more, who knows! I guarantee you origin being down there and their cheating premierships got more juniors started then any great "development" work they did in Victoria. I am not saying that they don't have a hard sell down in Victoria, I'm saying that they could and should start to focus on their own region more then others. They have the building blocks and a successful team, why shouldn't they? And according to you they also are the messiahs of development, surely with 4000 juniors (just a number I know but if it's going to become more then "just a number" they need to invest in that "number") + success of the club + financial backing of their rich owners + being there for TWENTY YEARS, they should be able to..... And to answer your question about Perth and Adelaide. Perth was in the nrl for 3 years and have now got an Sg ball team in the nsw cup (it's embarrassing their isn't a Melbourne storm team in the nsw cup playing out of Melbourne). Curtis Rona, waqa blake, the Goodwin brothers, Jon green (and there's more I believe) all spent time in the western Australian juniors..... that's right, the Perth region who had a club for 3 years and that club died 20 years ago has produced more nrl players then the storm who have been in the nrl for 20 years, cheated to get premierships (bringing them increased exposure) + had our biggest brand (origin) sent down their to further increase exposure.... there is no justification for that whatsoever, it's a joke actually
