Oates was the club's leading try scorer for 2015 and is also a favourite with Brisbane supporters as evidenced by the 23-year-old winning the XXXX Player of the Year - voted on by the fans - at the club's presentation night. The Maroons winger has attracted interest from other clubs but his preference is to stay in Brisbane and to play out his career at the club. His next contract will be only one step in that direction. The signs are that Oates is likely to re-sign. NRL.com understands Lodge has received some massive offers, including one of over $900,000. The Broncos are in negotiations with the prop forward's management with the length of his tenure still under discussion. Due to a management issue, Pangai jnr's deal will not be finalised until November. Both forwards are close to coach Wayne Bennett and the Bronco coach's future beyond 2019 may play into how long the duo re-sign with Brisbane. The Broncos are confident that the Bennett factor will not prevent the club from settling on deals with the pair but there is still more to play out before their signatures are secured.
