[QUOTE="Kooly87, post: 3534375, member: 9326"] Objectively speaking, if I’m Haas’ agent then I think the smart thing to do is definitely to wait until November 1. Realistically, he’s on great money if he stays with the offer as it is, but the answer to EXACTLY how much more he could command from both the Broncos with an increased offer, or from other clubs, is still far from certain, and the smart thing to do on their part is to find out for sure. It’s all well and good to say he easily commands 7 figures, and realistically it’s probably true, but there is a big differences between packing up your family and moving to the Bulldogs for an extra $100k-$200k a season on exactly 7 figures, as opposed to someone coming in and offering $1.3 million a season or even something left field like Rugby Union coming in at $1.5 million a season or something crazy like that. That’s an extra investment property every single year. It’s enough to change his life, his family’s lives, and the lives of probably his unborn grandkids if it’s used wisely. Personally, I doubt there is that kind of money coming for him. I suspect a Sydney club or two would bite in the $1 million range, but beyond that it’s a boatload of cash for a Prop Forward and even with a relatively sure thing like Taumalolo it’s arguably been a poor investment in practice. If he used that sort of offer to ultimately stay but get another $50k-$100k out of Brisbane then his agent has done a great job and thoroughly earned his pay cheque which is precisely what he’s supposed to be doing.
