Hodges wanted to play fullback and thought he had a better opportunity at the Roosters. Of course as he'd soon find out, Minichiello took to the position much better than anybody had ever anticipated so he had to settle at centre, which was probably better than replacing Wendell on the wing. Like Copley, Hodges struggled on the wing and had the worst Origin performance of anyone in that position. I don't know why anyone had an issue with Bennett either.
