The season is only half over, so we will never know where they would have finished. I didn't realise the big bash season was still going? that's great news might give them a chance to rise above the wooden spoon No it doesn't mean one of those two things, you've forgotten he's a very good coach that the players have decided is too hard on them and doesn't make it easy so they're just not playing.Firstly, I don't know that he is a very good coach, he quite possibly is but all I can go on is the results as that is all I am privy to. In any case you're never wrong so I will assume he is a very good coach, but even you can't deny that part of being a very good coach is keeping the player group. I'm not saying the playing group aren't a bunch of soft ***** that need to harden up but that is part and parcel with alot of that generation in every sport. The 'very good coaches' find a way to motivate and improve these sorts of players or they get rid of them if they have tried everything and can't. All QC have done is given into three players who were unhappy and didn't want their professional career to be too hard. Just let us cruise along if you're not going to do that we will complain QC are obviously a basket case. I never said otherwise so I don't see the relevance Law was given the job of being tough on them and told by QC that was his charter, he did that and he got sacked- how is that fair? He got sacked for doing what he was told.Never said it was fair, sport isn't fair most of the time. It's a results business and at the end of the day if they weren't on the bottom of the table those three players could have said whatever the wanted and they would be the ones shafted, not the coach Interesting point you raise about Lehmann, two things one he came in after a similar situation to Law regarding Barsby and they were winning- players don't look for fault when they're winning. You overlook things and put up with what you don't like. Start losing and I bet Lehmann would have come under the same microscope. Isn't the the fact the were winning Lehmanns doing? it's kind of a circular argument. Of course no one finds fault when you are winning and the great coaches win more than they lose Players have now had two coaches sacked for training too hard and pushing them to be better too much. Where to now? Do those three players pick the coach? Just let them interview candidates?Once again I haven't excused these players, they most likely shouldnt be there and the coach should have gotten rid of them. I never excused the players so I'm fucked if I know why you have your knickers in a knot at me, I'm not QC. What's it say about those players- I don't like the coach he's too hard so I am going to not get wickets and runs. Sure Law had faults, I am not suggesting he didn't- but they weren't sackable because every coach has faults. Why can't we work on faults anymore? Why don't we say few players think you can do this better- let's work on that this off-season. You haven't looked at any of these questions you've just looked at a table and sacked a guy. I didn't sack anyone, I simply suggested that it's a results business and the 'very good coach' had one way or another lead both sides to the bottom of the table (albeit one season was still going). In nearly all cases these days in these situations the coach will go because it is much easier to sack 1 coach as opposed to numerous players. That's just the way it is
