I honestly do not know of a sports club in any code that has been able to do this in a successful manner. It would certainly be worse if you only did this when the results weren't as good as expected or wished for. Like someone else said, this wouldn't make the club attractive to play for, on the contrary it would make people want to leave. At the most, I could see a yearly informal forum where players, coaches, stake holders and selected members would hold a mediatised interactive conference, either through Broncos TV or another medium, for all members to watch and pose valid questions. There would have to be some form of moderation that would allow the tough questions to be asked, without the whole thing turning into an inquisition where players and coaches are being grilled by fans, whom more often than not, have little understanding of high performance sports! Like you, if I was really rich enough to permit me to "waste" millions of dollars, I would too try to buy a controlling interest in the clubs I love, starting with the Broncos of course. I could see myself demading answers from CEO, Manager and Coach, as well as possibly pushing an agenda such as a more active recruitment policy and even push for a particular player I really would love to see at the club, case in point: Jonathan Thurston. What I would do is a comprehensive study about what the fans and members regard as most important for the club, add my personal feeling and desires, and then put together a plan to achieve it. I would head hunt the best in the business and get them to manage, develop, scout and coach my club according to the outcome of that study. But in return of giving them the best tools and people to do their job, I would also make sure they understand they will be accountable for achieving KPI's put to them, understanding of course that while you cannot guarantee a premiership, you have to mantain a high standard of performance. For example, if the result came back with the fans/members regarding results as the most important, regardless of (legal) methods, I would hound Bellamy until he signed, despite hating the prick with a passion. I would also hammer into his brain that I want spectacular football, because in the end, I want more than just winning, I want to enjoy watching the Broncos play as well. What I certainly wouldn't do, is try to tell him how to do his job! The problem is that there is something called the salary cap, which "equalises" the field, and prevents rich clubs from buying all the good players...
