http://www.broncos.com.au/news/2016/08/08/gillett_takes_anothe.html BRONCOS’ medical staff are confident Matt Gillett will play against the Eels on Friday night despite being brought off against the Dragons last Thursday. Gillett was playing his first game back from a shoulder injury suffered in the third State of Origin match. He certainly wasn’t shirking the task, amassing an amazing 52 tackles before being taken off with eight minutes left when the match was in the Broncos’ keeping. And while he did receive another bump on the troublesome joint, Broncos’ High Performance Manager Jeremy Hickmans said it was mainly a precautionary move. “He just got a little bang on his shoulder so we took the opportunity to get him off the field,” said Hickmans. “It is going to be an ongoing thing with him as the season progresses, so we thought we would just play it safe on that one. “We don’t have any major concern that he won't be right to play this week.” If that prognosis holds, it seems likely the Broncos will be able to name the same team tomorrow. The three other main injury worries – Jordan Kahu, Kodi Nikorima and Greg Eden – are no chance of playing this week. Kahu is fighting a chest problem, while Nikorima has a shoulder issue and Eden has a knee injury. In other team news, NRL rookie Jaydn Su'A has taken an early guilty plea for a dangerous throw he was charged for out of the Broncos' under-20s win over the Dragons. With the early plea Su'A will serve only one match, leaving him eligible to play against the Bulldogs next Thursday at Suncorp Stadium. Su'A was last week named 18th man for the NRL team against the Dragons, but dropped back to the under-20s squad after Gillett proved his fitness.
