Sometimes I wonder at the disconnect between fact and fiction, where we substitute fiction for fact to justify whatever personal agendas we hold, and we all have them, me included. The trouble with using fiction as a basis for action is that it too often misses the point, or points of relevance. Take this quote from the above, from Rabs and Gus: " “You‘re in the shadows of halftime, eight points down in a game that means a lot to you. The big fella just strolls through the meat of the Broncos forward pack. They‘re just standing around looking at each other, he’s barged through them." “He just took it up for a settler and came up with a four-pointer. There‘s not one player that put his shoulder into his work there.” So, my question then is, is sacking Seibold the best solution to the failure of personal responsibility that sits squarely on the shoulders of Turpin, Haas and Lodge, to give their all ,their best for the side, and for the coach? And maybe, just maybe therein lies the truth of the matter. That key players aren't interested in giving their all, because they don't play for their coach. Maybe that is the issue. That the tail is wagging the dog. Maybe Seibold needs to go simply because he can't get the faith and loyalty of his key players. For mine, one of Seibold's biggest problems as a coach is that he can't, so far at least, get the best from his players and therefore the team. That in itself is a good reason to sack him. However, at the same time, players who don't give their all for each other, for the team, for the club and for the fans also need to be held accountable. It's a fine line I agree, but one we need to tread carefully. Look at those players who try their guts out: Dearden, Carrigan and Farnworth as 3 examples. Would they have just stood around and watched as "the big fella came at them? Fair enough, sack Seibold. But is it fair enough that we can all live with the tail wagging the dog. Reminds me of the saying: the end justifies the means. Well, we enter that territory at our peril because somewhere in there, the truth gets lost and when that happens, important things like integrity, honour, personal responsibility also get lost which for mine undermines the true foundations of what makes a player, a team and a club, great. And calling Seibold names, WTF? What's that got to do with his coaching? OK, so let's continue in this vein. Let's curse "blundering cheesecake-guzzling fart-factory Turpin, Haas and Lodge for just standing around as they watched the "big fella" stroll through them. Fucking useless fat bastards. Sack them all.
