[QUOTE="rnabokov, post: 3173515, member: 1847"] I am not saying Darius is at fault for accepting his contract. Of course it is not his fault the contract was offered. So, the relevance of my post lies simply in my reply to broncsgoat's post. He said it was perfectly reasonable for a 30 year old Boyd not to retire. My reply suggested it was indeed not at all unreasonable for him not to retire given he had an $800K contract offer put under his nose. Indeed, why should he not accept such a "sensational contract". Financially, it made perfect sense. However for mine, it didn't make any sense for the club to offer him a 4 year contract, for the reasons I said above, and in the circumstances the club found itself at the time. For mine, the contract ought to have been for 2 years, with options based on form. For example, based on Darius's form in 2019, would the club have offered him a further 2 year extension? Of course, that question is asked with the benefit of hindsight, and it is now irrelevant, so I am not going there, unlike Seibold, who inherited the 4 year contract and kept picking Darius and was rightly pilloried for doing so. So yes, this whole thing is, as you so rightly say, very much on the club. This is all on the club. Absolutely, 100% on the club. As for Milford, his story, again for mine is a different narrative altogether. He is IMO the player we need, but a lot don't want. Part of my point here is that I feel Milford will come good once we have a new coach, preferably Walters, under who Milford really shone, whereas under Seibold, he failed, which has nothing to do with his longevity as a player, at this point in time at least, a point which of course is hotly debated on here.
