We've been blessed to have a Lockyer. They don't come around too often at all. I dont mean this in a bad way, but it is the nature of the game these days, but gradually over time, the Broncos have lost quality, if I could draw a graph it would be a slow decline curve, think about it, from the late 90's to now, the past decade, it has been a slow slow decay of quality, for a number of reasons, but obviously the cap is a major one. Anyhow my point is, we've been so lucky the decline hasn't been so dramatic because we've had a player like Lockyer, I've always said this but, once we lose him, we could possibly be a non-guaranteed top 8 team, I mean cmon, the past ten years, we know the Broncos will make top 8, we're just not worried about it at all, I must say, the further we go, the more it gets more iffy, you just can't be too sure anymore. The Broncos eventually have to change, because superstars unearthed these days are athletes not footballers anyway, the Inglis and Gasnier types, the footballers unearthed these days don't shine as much, Pierce? players like pierce COULD be the next joey or whatever (I'm not saying he would be, I'm using a young playmaker who bursts on the scene as a star as an example) , but ball players take MUCH longer to shine to the top because they have to learn the game, yadda yadda, where as the mega stars these days are the athletes who come on and just blow the park away with their athletic ability. Eventually unless anything drastic happens, Broncos won't be able to rely on a super star anymore. We've been doing since I've been following the Broncos for the past decade.
