This is exactly right. The numpties gargling Vlandys balls spend all their time calling out high tackles (which have ALWAYS been illegal) as the main culprit for concussions when its just not true. Gus came out 2 weeks ago and tried to point it out that most head knocks in the game come from a defender tackling low and colliding with the hips/legs of the player. Of course there is accidental contact, its a contact sport, and accidents will happen, you will NEVER remove accidental head contact from the game, and those will lead to concussions as well. Short of turning the game into touch footy, the NRL are going about this all wrong. They need to to enforce a known risk policy. If you decide to become a first grade NRL player, you accept the risk that comes with the giant pay check. Of course the game will still do its best to prevent unnecessary damage, but you will never remove it from the game, especially when the "best" players in the game are falling into tackles Tedesco style. The latest scumbag move from Vlandys mafia is to push Mortimer out as the face of dementia, in order to further their narrative. They asked Mortimer if he thought the head knocks were the reason for his dementia and he said he was certain that was the case, even though Mortimer is NOT a fucking doctor and the leading cause of dementia is "AGING". People who become cops, or join the Military, know that joining those occupations brings with it a potential risk of injury or death in the line of duty. The same with professional race car drivers and MMA fighers. All of these occupations carry a potential risk of serious immediate injury and long term injury, yet we dont hear of the UFC, the Army, the Police or Formula One getting sued for CTE issues. Apologies for the long winded rambling post, but it has got to the point where the game is being fucked over by men who have no right to be calling the shots, under the guise of caring for peoples wellbeing when in reality they are terrified of being sued and losing their cheddar, nothing more. /end rant
