[QUOTE="Wolfie, post: 3500115, member: 8770"] Signing big name players was the start of their demise in the first place. Its utter stupidity if they go back down that route. I cant believe anyone with any sense would even want them to go back down that route. They need to build a squad with players who have got some development in them and will improve over time. As bad a season as they have had, its what Liverpool did. United buying the big name, finished article is just going to see them make the same mistakes again. I'd be vary wary of what the Quatar investors are saying. Its still a huge undertaking and they still have to meet FFP targets both in European competition and in the Premier league. They simply dont have the luxury of doing what Citeh did when their owners took over or Abramovich at Chelsea. They didnt have FFP restrictions. United will. When you look that Spurs stadium cost around $1.8 to 2 billion 4 years ago you can probably say a new Old Trafford is going to be minimum $2.5 billion. Then they have around a billion dollars worth of debt that needs clearing. Its also going to cost about $8 billion plus to buy them, thats a minimum outlay of around $12 billion probably they have to invest before players. Whatever way you look at it, from a pure financial point of view its a poor investment. United as a commercial entity make plenty of money, but its still not a going to be an investment that makes the owners money for decades. $11 or 12 billion to get them up and running without players is huge.
