Its hard to go past the 1992 & 1993 premierships purely because they marked the Broncos' arrival as a great RL club .... The Broncos were so dominant in 92, going 18-4 through the regular season and never losing consecutive games. That first premiership had a special feel about too because the whole buildup to that season after the disappointment of 91 had an air of "this is our year" about it, esp with Glen Lazarus' arrival. 1993 was an awesome achievement because the Broncos had to snap out of an early season bout of complacency and then after a couple of late season losses to end the reg season, they had to come from 5th to win it all. THey also had to do it without Glen Lazarus who injured his ankle. Then they found themselves 6-16 down in the prelim final against Canterbury and had to dig deep in the second half. St George really fancied their chances of beating Brisbane in the GF but Brisbane really suffocated them in that decider. I'll always remember Kelvin Giles in tears during an interview after that game because he was so proud of the physical and emotional challenge the team had overcome to come from 5th and win it all. To cut to the chase, I disagree with your sentiments about the 2000 win to an extent. Sure Brisbane was loaded with talent but I don;t think that group or Wayne Bennet recieved the amount of credit they deserved for that one. They won that competition just one season after the retirement of Alan Langer. That was a massive accomplishment imo because they had to find a new style of game that suited their new group and to do that and win it all in the one season was quite amazing. To me 2006 felt a bit like the Broncos had robbed the bank. It almost had a feel that winning the GF was just a beautiful bonus after a very courageous comeback from that horrible mid season slump. Melbourne were the best team for most of that season but Brisbane got hot at the right time and robbed the bank.
