Now to the bagging out, There was only one spot available in F1 next year, Piastri should be the automatic selection but no, there's a Chinese driver Guanyu Zhou who finished third and is massively inconsistent BUT because he is backed by a LOT of money, he got the one F1 seat available next year. Also, because Piastri won F2, he is ineligible to compete again next year, so not only has he been shafted by not getting a seat in F1 next year, he is forced to take the year off and be the reserve driver for the Alpine team allowing other rivals to potentially get the jump on him for '23. Fortunately, he is so good, a team will definitely pick him up in '23 but what a shame, there could have been two Aussie drivers in F1 next year. As an aside, Jack Doohan (Mick Doohan's kid) is also a gun and will be in F2 next year on his way to the big time.
