Ok my now 7 year old daughter has been asking me to take her to a Broncos game since the start of the season. I work every Friday and Saturday night so kinda ruled them out. I just bought tickets to take her to the Broncos v Tigers game on the Sunday. As much as I would love to watch the under 20's I can't see my little munchkin sitting happily through both games. I have a few questions that I was hoping you fellows supporters could help me with seeing as this will be her first ever game and will be my first trip to Suncorp.

1 - Can my daughter take her binoculars in? We are on halfway row 74 so I think she would want to use them some of the time.

2 - Is the pre match entertainment any good or worth making sure we are there for?

3 - Does it take long to get in into the stadium? Don't want to be still waiting to get in when it all starts.

4 - Is there anything worth taking my daughter to have a look at around the stadium before hand?

5 - Lastly my only real concern is the toilets. Me being a dude taking my 7 year old daughter along it's not like I can take her in. I'm guessing these are hectic at halftime? I was thinking my best bet was going to be biting the bullet and taking her 10 minutes before halftime to avoid the rush. My daughter may be 7 but she is tiny for her age and gets intimidated in very crowded areas by herself so hence my question that might seem meh to some, and I thought it best to ask people who have actually attended the stadium as supporters over workers.

Thanks for any answers people might be willing to pass on in advance.

1) Binoculars are no problems
2) prematch is the kids leagues games and the cheerleaders doing a dance routine. Occasionally a band plays.
3) id allow at least five minutes to get through the gates if youre turning up near the start. I usually get in for the u20s so i cant really comment.
4) not with a normal ticket. The stadium members area has some nice memorabilia but thats it.
5) yep, the loos can be crowded at half time.

In my opinion, the only thing really of value to a 7 year old girl, besides the football, would be if they do one of the fun novelty half-time races. However I would recommend you get to the stadium a good half hour before the game, not just for getting through the gates (which should really only be 3 or 4 mins), but to navigate yourself to your seats and get any food & drink. The toilet facilities are well catered for, so if you do go at half time it might take a couple of minutes but you won't miss any game time. Maybe in that time before the match it'd be an idea to scope out where the closest disabled or parents toilet is, it'll be a lot better to go in there and no one should frown upon using a disabled one if you're clearly a parent with a child of a different sex.

Have you sorted out transport?

1 - Yes she can, but she won't need them. You can see pretty well from high up.

2 - It's just little league, a terrible cheerleader show, a horse running around the field and bunch of crappy music played over the PA system. Nothing really worth getting there early for.

3 - No, it doesn't. Even when it's packed, it still doesn't take too long to get in there. However, if you were looking to buy food or drinks, get there early because they do get very packed so it would be best to get there early.

A little tip, if you're just getting a drink, don't wait for the people standing in line for food. Just grab a drink from the side fridge and push your way through. You might get a couple of people that don't want to move, just shove through anyway.

4 - There are a few things outside your daughter may be interested in, and you have the statues. But inside, nothing really to see when you're on a normal ticket.

5 - At half time it gets very packed. You're just about standing shoulder to shoulder once you're in and the line up does tend to get long. I've seen people take their daughter in. No one really has a problem with it. They do have those cubicles.

Leaving before the half finishes does help a bit, but so many other people have the same idea. I would do what Morkel suggested.

You can always go to the front desk just inside the gates and ask what you should do.

And another tip. Take the elevator. The stairs are killers.

Haven't sorted out transport yet Morkel was going to try and see how close I could get going via train.

You have two options.

Stop at Roma street and catch the bus to the stadium. Or stop at Milton and it's a 5 minute walk to the stadium.

Yeah Roma Street is as close as you get. I wouldn't advise walking to the stadium for the little tacker as she'll be exhausted. I've never taken the bus but I believe it's just across the road from the Roma St station and shuttles pretty regularly.

The good thing is that you'll be surrounded by fellow fans on the train and the full journey there. All of whom will be happy to answer questions. And when you do get to the stadium there are plenty of staff and again they'll be able to help with anything you need.

And good on you big k, with all the travel etc it'll be a big afternoon, but well worth it, so credit to you for doing what all good parents should do, and that's create memories that your kids will cherish.

Thanks for the help guys.

Morkel cheers it's something my wife and myself endeavor to do with our children. My wife getting MS a few years ago certainly put things in perspective. We have family days and days where I will take one child on an adventure and the wife will take the other. Can't wait till they are old enough to appreciate and enjoy over seas experiences with us as well.

i think even if you go out 1min before the half time siren you will probably get to a cubicle pretty easily up top. just take her in with you. no one will care.
