Of course if we're going to discuss the JT moment (albeit, it did occur at a more crucial moment of the game) we have to touch on this.

Try Or No Try?

There's no doubt the ball comes free at some point, the question is do you think it made contact with Coote constituting a knock on?

The fact that we're still debating this kind of proves the bunker shouldn't have overturned the call.

I wonder what you think of the three trys the Cowboys are debating. ;)

I thought it was a try for Gillett, unequivocally so. The fact it was given as a try on field surely should have meant it was awarded as I thought there was enough evidence to suggest he scored and there definitely wasn't adequate evidence to take it off him...

However I also thought the Cows' 2nd half obstruction no try was a dud call.

Why is that? I didn't see that happening at any time, in any of the replays. And wouldn't it need to be clear for the try to be overturned?

This. I thought I was the only one who thought it was more than possible to move the ball to your other arm without losing control.

Apologies, poor phrasing.

What I meant to say is that there is no doubt that Gillett had to somehow transfer the ball from one hand to the other while Coote had his right arm pinned. The question is whether he had complete control or was there a point in time in transfer where he's used Coote's body to assist in the transfer, hence constituting a knock on.

For what it's worth, I don't believe there was sufficient evidence to over-turn the decision and it wasn't as if Sutton wasn't aware of the transfer.

Yeah this. I could well be wrong but all I saw was him moving the ball from one hand to the other.

In the replays, you clearly see him cradling the ball with BOTH arms while transferring the ball. It doesn't matter whether it touches Coote in that process.

Looked like a try clear as mud to me every time I saw the replay, unlike the JT roll on.

Funny how Green and JT conveniently ignored that in their criticism of the bunker

Not only did they get it completely wrong, they overturned the correct on field decision. And then the Butthurt Cows fans just choose to forget it when lamenting JT's no try.

Laughable and farcical.
