I've watched all 80 minutes of every grand final for as long as I can remember, even when it was teams I absolutely despised like manly of the mid 90s or Newcastle of the early 00's.....but as soon as the video referee awarded that try to the dragons for 'benefit of the doubt' I got up and left. That was the straw that broke the camels back. Right from the outset it was clear who the referees were going to be gifting the premiership to. How does noone see Morris have both feet out a second before throwing it back in? How does soward not get a penalty try ruled against him for stopping a try by kicking at the ball? How does Morris not get penalised for an intentional forward pass or at least offside when throwing the ball to a guy half a meter in front of him while facing him head on? How was Morris not penalized for pushing Perret in the back when chasing that bomb? Dragons scored in the next set, when it shouldve been roosters ball. Then to give that try......the ball clearly hit the roosters player and bounced back into the dragons players arms. Every single person in the crowd new it, the commentators new it, and if you listened closely you even heard Jamie soward say 'knock on' as he went to get the ball off the guy who 'scored'. Was it harrigan in the box by any chance? Now I know you Bennett lovers will say 'they won by lots so it doesn't matter', but that's BS. being behind 6-0 after 5 mins because the 4 refs are blind affects more than just the scoreboard. The incorrect decisions just kept piling up in favour of saints. That supposed forward pass from carney that disallowed a try was lineball at the very very worst. From the high view it clearly was not forward. It was just a terrible match of footy, and easily the worst grand final I've ever seen. The under 20s match between souths and the warriors was much better.
