The Cowboys were too strong for the Tigers. It wasn't the most convincing performance by the Cowboys but they've got plenty of strike in their team and have plenty of ingredients that could take them the entire way. I thought they really missed Brandon Smith out there, he gives them plenty of strike out of dummy half and while Niemoller has done a respectable job he has limitations that prevent the Cows from being all they can be. Still I thought the Cowboys controlled the ruck really well and the likes of Mosby and Bambling continued to impress. One player I'd like to see play up a level is Viliame Kikau. Despite playing up-front, he's got 11 tries from 10 games and he terrorises defensive lines at this level. Standing at 196cm and weighing in at 114kg I'm wary of whether it's a case of a player throwing his size around and would like to see whether he could add anything at ISC level because he could be a great replacement for Mat Scott down the line. Meanwhile the Tigers struggled to find any rhythmn. They've got plenty of talent but a lot of it is raw and I get the feeling that Kimmorley is still trying to find the best combination for the team. If they were to win today, it was going to be on the back of Te Maire Martin who's one of the best five eighths in the game but he struggled to get involved and was guilty of forcing the issue from time to time. I liked what I saw from Felise and Sironen but they've got to get more support and the likes of Woods really need to take more ownership of the side. Stand Outs Cowboys - Bowie, Mosby, Schulte, Kikau, Power, Kenworthy. Tigers - Heleta, Mapesone, Felise, Sironen
