At the Broncos (vs Souths) game at Suncorp I had this smelly guy in front of me. He had to comment on every play and turn around and look at us like we really wanted to hear his opinion on the game (he seemed very simple, whether he had a mental handicap I don't know). When the Broncos first try wasn't awarded. He started blowing up deluxe calling it a rake and wouldn't listen to anyone (including Broncos fans next to him) explaining the rules that you are allowed to attack the ball when going for a try and that they didn't even attack the ball but the arm and he dropped it short due to this. During the game he made more stupid statements and I had enough so I kept setting him off by being smart ass about things going on during the game. When Michael Crocker lost the ball right near full time it looked like a rake so I yelled out, "he raked the ball, call it ref" in parody of the idiot. He then yelled out penalise the grass. It was a very funny experience. At Newcastle the next week I had the pleasure of sitting next to a 50+ year old lady. She made a comment about sitting next to Souths supporters to her friends before she sat down next to me. Then all during the game made comments. Nathan Merritt almost scored a try but put his foot on the line, she told me to "sit down, shut up". Everything was a forward pass, offside, get off them ref and Captain Kurt. Then in the 2nd half during the time we started making some sort of comeback Newcastle knocked on and the player booted it across field. So I yelled out he "kicked the ball away, penalise him". Then she went "your player did it earlier". I said "No he didn't, he threw the ball and they are two different things". As I didn't explain myself correctly because I believe the Souths player bounced the ball on the ground and it went flying 30 metres. She laughed with her friends next to her saying they were the same thing. So I blew up, I never said it directly to her though but just ranted outloud. I was dropping f bombs (which I rarely do at the footy but I was already pissed off due to a #### day at work, our crap performance on the field and having to put up with this old cow as well). I was saying things like she wouldn't know the rules today as the game has probably changed so much since she originally started watching etc... I was extremely pissed off. Another one was at North Sydney Oval around 2003 or 2004 against Manly. I don't know if we had to win to not get the spoon or we already had that sealed up. But we had a group of about 6, 40 - 50 old farts drinking the whole game and one was smoking. Now the seats at North Sydney are elevated to were they were standing concourse is. So anyways they had wooden spoons with them and they were waving them during the game and being smart asses to Bree's nan and some older members we sit with. However after full time one of the guys either waved it in my face or went to hand it to me. He had already done something that I wasn't happy with, so I snatched it off him, snapped it in half on the metal safety rail infront of us and threw it back in front of him and told him to "Piss off and have some respect for other fans". A few year ago at Manly we were sitting in the front rows of the members stand. This lady behind us dropped her glasses into Bree's mum's hand bag. Bree reached into the bag to hand them to the lady. She leant over snatched the glasses before Bree was able to get them far out of the bag and started abusing Bree saying she was trying to steal her glasses and told us to watch ourselves and watch our car. Even some of the Manly supporters had WTF? expressions on their faces, and that is a very hard thing to achieve... lol One of the worst experiences for bad fans was actually out side the ground after the Dragons vs West Tigers semi final last year. We went to see our U20's team play and stayed around for first grade. Now outside the ground near the P1 parking some small Wests Tigers chick was getting in the face of a big Dragons supporter as something had already happened before we got near and he punched her across the face knocking her to the ground and saying she kneed him in the balls. Another Wests Tigers chick got in front of him and said you can't hit girls, she is just a kid, he replied with the she should have got out of my face and not kneed me in the balls. Then within a flash everyone had sort of moved on, before you could find a cop to advise them of the situation. As I attend so many away games, I am usually stuck next to the home team fan and we always seem to get that "one" around us. I am very passionate but I have respect for other fans and I never turn around and taunt fans or say #### after a win to an opposing fan. I admit I yell out, I cheer, tease players and jump up and down but when full time hits, I clap off whoever wins and obviously cheer for my team if we win. I always wonder, am I the "one" dickhead those supporters hate and talk about.. lol
