I was fine with Klemmer being picked as a bench forward. He's the best in the biz in that Palea'sena type role and his form in the 4N proved that. But McGuire wasn't a slouch either. If you were putting together a best 17 from that tournament, McGuire would be infront of Klemmer and that was playing at dummy half! I don't think many players deserved to wear the green and gold that year - they were just given it because so many players declined for one reason or another. If I was selecting a team, McGuire would have been there but I don't think he was the type of prop we needed either. The problem was, Woods and Klemmer were our two big enforces in the middle. Woods is a handful but lacks a higher gear while Klemmer is inexperienced. Anyways, I feel like I'm an expert on the 2014 4N series that I can't help but expand on it when I can. How good were those Kiwis? Sad that a lot of them haven't been able to produce the same performances week in week out. I sort of see what kluppy is saying. McGuire tends to get a free pass around here and the only knock he gets is that he should be a backrow. I don't think many disagree with that assertion either, the problem is, we already have one of the best in the business in Parker so you've just got to deal with it. I must say, on first watch, I didn't get MotM vibes but then, the match didn't really offer up too many. It was a team performance where everyone pitched in and everyone made mistakes. The only thing that stood out to Josh was slapping out Bird and putting in a dumb kick that alleviated the pressure off the Titans. If Wayne does anything this year, I hope he just has us run the ball on the last and makes the opposition work it out from a corner ala the Bulldogs.
