I didn't know it was THAT bad personally. Last I remember he had to wear some special contact lense and had limited vision, I didn't realise he was blind altogether in that eye. It's pretty brave, but if I'm a coach, I'm getting my players to run at that shoulder. FWIW the injury occurred in Round 8 2011 against Canterbury. I can't remember the exact minute or anything like that but Josh went into make a tackle and copped a stray finger from Dodds who was trying to assist him. I only tuned into the show to see what the NRL announcement was about but McGuire's appearance was by far the most fascinating to me. He naturally seemed a little uncomfortable on there but had a few honest moments which got by far the best reaction out of anything on the show. I reckon once he gets comfortable, he'd be a hoot on a show like this, especially if you gave him a Jack Reed or Lachlan Maranta to work off of. Mind you of all the Broncos, I'd say Thaiday has the best shot of doing something in the media. Hodgo could be pretty good too in this sort of environment. That was maybe the second or third Footy Show I've watched all year and I've basically made an effort to watch every Rugby League related show there is. A large part of that is, it's basically the same show all the time. It starts off with Beau Ryan doing something not footy related that's supposed to be funny because it's happening to Beau. That's all fine and good but at about the 15 minute mark you're checking the time. They'll touch on all the news which is basically being recycled from everything off of social media, Beau spends 10 minutes interviewing Yanks about nothing at all then we get Small Talk and Player Probe etc etc. It's sad when Perfect Partners is considered the high point. Even that segment ends up the same way and seems faker than Pro Wrestling with the same canned jokes. Ermagerd you're punching above your weight Big tough rugged prop, do you cry during movies? etc. etc. And outside of Middleton, nobody has anything interesting to say about the upcoming weekend and usually what ends up happening is that they expose how little they know. I believe Mark Geyer called Heath L'estrange a young fella when the guy is hitting 30 in just over a months time. But whatever, it's just a comfy television show, but even for comfy television it could easily be improved.
