He was solid, serviceable and showed some maturity beyond his years but he is still only 18 with a handful of first grade games and doesn’t exactly scream ‘saviour’ not to mention we actually need depth in the halves. The club would have been pulling themselves silly when Segeyaro didn’t want to accept a minimum wage contract before being flagged for an illegal substance because now they can trot out Macca in the 17 every week and try and justify it to the fans. We won’t cop that either because even the media pundits know Turpin is our best and most promising option at 9 and Macca is just a wasted bench spot. My greatest fear is Boyd and Macca both being in the 17 in Round 1 and when the ensuing and obvious hiding at the hands of the cowboys follows, having to hear Seibold trot out that dreadful ‘Boyd isn’t playing as bad as everyone is saying’ line ad nauseum [/QUOTE]
