Brisbane Broncos captain Darren Lockyer is set to miss two NRL matches with a rib cartilage injury.

Lockyer saw a doctor on Monday and was advised he should take two weeks off to recover from the injury suffered in a crunching tackle by Luke O'Donnell during Friday night's 34-26 win over North Queensland in Townsville.

Well that sucks.

Anyone see this as a bit of a blessing?

I know we have to win this game but if we can manage to win this week and next week without Lockyer we get a huge benifit. Lockyer gets two weeks off to rest and get better ready for the run to our 7th Premiership :mrgreen:

Fresh Locky is great news but.....Will the young guys be able to take it up another notch again as it gets closer to finals?? Thats my only doubt....

They have already lifted at origin time, then again in the semi final style footy against the Dragons. So they would have to do it again and again and again with games v eels then over the ditch v warriors and then the finals????

If Hodgo is back this week that would be a great confidence boost. I know he wont be great straight away but for the young guys it would be a massive lift.

Not much we can do about it, it's just one of those things that happens in RL.

Wallace and Norman will do the job as long as our forwards do theirs.

Cant agree enough.

We are not a one man team. Norman and Wallace have done it before and Norman and Wallace will do it again. Its a good test for the younger guys and a chance to stand up and be noticed.

MOTM - Parker for sure. Everytime he has been captain he has been MOTM even when we lost to the Tigers

:roll: That was a game where the Broncos did enough to win, and not much more. See how they fired up against the Dragons? That's a fairer comparison.

They'll have that kind of mentality this week against the Hayne Stain.
