They sort of psyched themselves up too much in Game I & III but showed they could easily match if not BETTER Queensland in the middle. Which is no mean fete when you've got Mat Scott (1st Tier Scott), Myles (who finds 1st tier when he wears Maroon, 3rd if not 4th without it) and Corey Parker who in my mind is a Top 10 player in the WORLD. That's something I never thought I'd say in 2008 but there you go. As an aside, Jackson is treated merely as a replacement. He came in for Gallen, did a job and that was that. Outside of Sterling who has a soft spot for him, the media weren't raving about Josh's performances in Origin. In the end, he got recognition at the Dally Ms but it was for a category where there were no stand outs. For mine, he's their attempt at selecting a Dallas Johnson esque player, to prove that annoying 'if Tongue was a Queenslander he would have played 20 Origins and had a park named after him' story that gets thrown around everytime a Queenslander thinks they can play arm-chair selector for NSW. McGuire is a very good player but he lacks that gear the top tier props have. The likes Scott, Bromwich, Woods, Burgess and as much as it pains me to say JWH has. He isn't going to bust through too many TOP LINE defensses. He'll carry the ball a lot of times and he'll do his JOB among the best of him, but he isn't in that category and I don't think he'll join them for an extended period.
