THE Brisbane Broncos are expected to be hit with an early season blow tomorrow, losing Aaron Gorrell for 2009.

The former St George Illawarra forward signed with Brisbane after knocking back an option on his contract with Super League club Catalans.

But he hurt his knee in training last week and underwent an MRI scan. The results have been forwarded to Brisbane orthopaedic surgeon Peter Myers, who will see Gorrell tomorrow.

Fears are that the hooker has damaged his anterior cruciate ligament, which would spell the end of his season before it has even started.

Gorrell has only been in training at his new club for a month.

Nah, 9-12 month injury. People who return after 6 months are at a high risk of reinjury.

Man that sucks... still to be honest there's more than a few other players I would of been more upset over, at least we have a couple options at hooker at the moment, looks like 09 will be the year for McCullough to shine, the cards are already falling into place for him it feels. Picture him to start as an impact bench hooker then from there who knows, good luck to him.

Could be a blessing in disguise... McCullough looks to be the one to watch for the Broncos this season so now he gets the chance to start the season in the 9.
