I'll start by saying I am no Super League expert, far from it, however, I did start taking a mild interest into it when Holbrook was first mentioned on the Titans forum months before signing. Hence you could probably expect me to be a SL coach fan. However, in my opinion, even discounting Kev etc. I don't think Wane is the right fit for the Broncos as although he managed some sustained success in the super league, from what I can tell, the competition revolves around a few powerhouse clubs. Wigan is one of those clubs and he received it off Maguire in 2013 who had them top of the table in 2012 (21W 6L). Thus, his title in 2013 was largely I am going to assume off the back of Maguire's team. Yes, he managed wins in 2016 and 2018, and I am sure he is still a high quality coach, but the difference is as much as the Broncos seem to want to stress otherwise, 2021 is looking like a rebuild for the time being, in contrast to the strong squads Wane would have had throughout his time at Wigan. Evidence being they still managed 2nd place after he left and now top of the table 2 years after still. Holbrook in contrast, received a squad that from all reports was travelling the worst St Helens had been in recent history and transformed them into a team that went 21-2 and 26-3 in his last 2 seasons. It was this rebuilding background in contrast to the bordering on 80% win rate that sold me. Wane seems to be more of a finals/premiership tactician from my limited knowledge as his records there seem better than his seasonal results. Happy to be proven wrong though just saying it is easy to be sucked in by the 69% win rate sprouted by the media. (Sorry it is all a bit jumbled, the main opinion was he seems more suited to finals coaching than turning around a team as it seems easy to dominate regular season games over there and he has more success in finals (3 premierships) rather then minor premierships (0) etc. Not what you need now imo)
