Last year Cowboys fans would have felt aggrieved that Payten broke up a winning combination in Drinkwater/Clifford only to go on a massive losing streak with Drinkwater/Dearden. It appears those concerns have been quelled as the Knights opt for Hoy & Crossland. I've got my fingers crossed for both those players. Crossland has had a very tough initiation into NRL, coming in as a utility during the pandemic era just to get whatever time on the field he could get and usually coming into the team missing players. He finds himself in a similar position with the club desperate for a win going to Townsville. It's a huge ask but for his sake I just hope he plays with a devil may care attitude. On the plus side I'm happy to see the likes of Kobe Rugless in the mix. Something has to give for the Knights so getting these younger players involved who have been in the system for years at least seems like a productive use of time. [/QUOTE]
