Definitely not as convincing as last week, but a solid enough win for the Cowboys. I think it would have been easy for them to come into the game and expect it just to happen. That was the type of mentality the Eels had against the Tigers and we all saw what happened there. To an extent we did see a bit of that in the first half, but come the second the Cowboys focused on getting through their sets and while there was an element of luck to their play they did well to put themselves in that position. He's done a really good job Payten. It's one thing to blood a bunch of rookies and say job done it's another to get them playing the way Payten has. Nanai, Luki, Neame, Cotter etc. are weapons and Todd has done a tremendous job of selling them the importance of competing on every play. They'll get it wrong from time and time but he's coached the right mentality into them and if they can keep it up they could be anything. I thought the Knights were pretty brave. Nobody rated them a chance and they gave a good account of themselves. I thought the returns of Fitzgibbon and Young made a difference to the team and the Knights didn't miss their halves as much as they should have been entitled to. I thought that was Crossland's best game this season and Hoy had some good touches as well. They had some solid moments but like a lot of struggling teams they just clocked off at bad times. That effort on Taulagi was just really poor and then to concede 70 odd metres the next set really hurt them. I think from that point on it was always going to be too difficult for them and to lose Edrick Lee and Jack Johns in the one set was just a bridge too far. In the end, they were probably fortunate not to concede 50. Looking at their draw, they really ought to make Top 4 this season.
