Lodge was nullified out of the game by last year's high contact crackdown. This year Niukore had a completely innocuous high tackle in the third round and his hip drop that the NRL used to make a statement and get things rolling on their crackdown. Now, Niukore whose abrasiveness is his strength can't fart without future suspensions. A borderline hip drop in a desperation tackle on a rampaging Talakai resulted in a penalty a full set after the incident, a sin bin, a farcical two week suspension, and a potentially season altering points weighting.
