I watched the 2002 Grand Final last night (last Roosters premiership win) and I agree with Brad Fittler that this Roosters team is more talented than 2002. This team is a lot more fitter and creative and possesses more skill and a more mobile and attacking forward pack. The Grand-Final is a very tough encounter despite the final score being 30-8. The first-half is a very testing and tough affair with the Roosters leading 6-2 at halftime despite being on top for most of the 1st half with handling mistakes and desperate Warriors defense keeping Easts at bay. The only try is scored in the 23rd minute after a strong charge from Fittler the Roosters spread the ball to Fletcher who draws the defense and hands the ball to Brett Mullins who streaks down the sideline and passes to an unmarked Shannon Hegarty who runs untouched to the line. A brilliant individual try by Stacey Jones and the conversion by Cleary puts the Warriors up 5 minutes after the break but it's short lived after a 40/20 by Fittler puts the Roosters on the attack and Fittler sends Wing over in the ensuring set and the Roosters take the lead back. The game's defining moment occurs when Fittler is knocked over when attempting a clearing kick and headbutted unnecessarily by Villiasanti. The incident fires the Roosters and Fittler up as they control the reminder of the game and Fitzgibbon, Flannery and Fletcher add their names to the scoring list and the Roosters win by 30-8. Fitzgibbon receives the Clive-Churchill medal but I would've given in to Fittler as his leadership after being knocked aggresively was inspirational to the Roosters win and his attacking game and defense in the second-half was world class. Pretty unfair score on the Warriors considering how competitive they were for most of the game and how tough the games was. Roosters 2002 Grand Final team 1: Luke Phillips 2: Brett Mullins 3: Shannon Hegarty 4: Justin Hodges 5: Anthony Minichiello 6: Brad Fittler (Captain) 7: Craig Wing 8: Jason Cayless 9: Simon Bonetti 10: Peter Cusack 11: Adrian Morely 12: Craig Fitzgibbon 13: Luke Ricketson 14: Chris Flannery 15: Bryan Fletcher 16: Michael Crocker 17: Andrew Lomu Coach: Ricky Stuart Stacey Jones's awesome try
