It follows the revelations and video footage of superstar Jarryd Hayne in the company of Gold Coast bikie Chris Bloomfield last weekend. The player involved this time is rookie Karl Lawton who debuted in the NRL in round 17 against the Warriors but dislocated and fractured his ankle. Lawton was arrested on Monday night by Gold Coast police and charged with assault. “We are aware of the incident,” said a Titans spokesman. “As far as we know this was a family domestic matter between two males. “As it is now a police matter the club will be making no further comment.” An NRL spokesman confirmed the Titans had informed the integrity unit and were waiting for further details. Talk about bad timing. Gold Coast Titans chief executive Graham Annesley has been in London all week attending a wedding. He was in transit and powerless to act when Hayne was caught in the company of undesirables on the Gold Coast and again while police were acting on Lawton. [/QUOTE]
