The Cowboys were a fun team to watch. I rewatched it from a Broncos perspective and found it frustrating more than anything. A couple of decent passages where they gave themselves opportunities but just some awful errors at bad times, poor defensive lapses and some questionable selections brought them down. 07 was incredibly deflating for the Broncos. My expectations were sky-high after the end of 06 and it was like that run to the finals never happened. It was like they had an Origin hangover in March. Then in a strange turn of events, the Origin series woke the star players up and they played as well as they could against a mounting injury toll. I would have thought the Broncos/Sharks game would have been uploaded since it was replayed on Fox but no dice. I may have even reviewed it here around the time it was aired, my recollection is that it was scrappy right up until the finish. I'm sure the game did wonders for their confidence but now that you mention it, I swear Gordie revealed in the 2000 retrospective Fox had that it was the Melbourne game I brought up. After the game the Broncos were that thrilled that they could compete against all adversity that they started to believe. I could be conflating that with Parker's story about 2015 and how it was the defensive resolve against Melbourne. For me, it was the second half performance against the Tigers. Wests were one of the form teams of the competition at the time and it was no surprise that the scores were tied at half-time. Then came the second half, Brisbane went to another level and just destroyed them. They did that to everyone and even managed to hold our own against the Chooks without all our star players until they kicked the Broncos teeth in the second half.
