Was Griffin that bad? I've been wanting to do this for a while and the recent events has finally made me do it. I'm going to do my own alysis of each Anthony Griffin season and see how bad he really was as a coach. I'm starting with 2014 as it's the easiest one for me to do All of the season reviews are just solely coming of memory and a bit of research so I could be wrong on some points and I welcome corrections. 2014, Finished 8th beaten in week 1 of the finals, Points for; 549 (4th), Points against; 456 (7th) Season Summary; The Broncos rebounded from the worst season in the club's history to qualify for the finals in 8th spot on a points difference of 13+ thanks to some results that swung our way in the last week. 8 wins on the back of a 4 game winning streak had Brisbane sitting in 6th spot before 5 loses in the next 6 games threatened to see the Broncos out of the finals but wins against Newcastle and the Dragons pinched the Broncos a spot in the 8 but it wasn't ensured till Penrith saw of the Warriors in the last home and away game of the season. Brisbane's season came to an end the same way in 2012 with a 32-20 defeat in Townsville against the Cowboys. Positives; Ben Hunt played so well after finally being given the halfback spot permanently 2014 turned into his breakout year, he poled highly in the Dally M voting, made his test debut and was very unlucky not to play for Queensland. Dale Copley played the best football of his career finishing as the teams top try scorer with 16 after missing the previous year with injury and also entered rep calculations. Daniel Vidot had a strong season and surprised everyone. Negatives; The mess in the five-eighth position continued as Hoffman played 18 games there before being shifted to fullback where he was solid, Barba was shifted after catting it at fullback and played there for the rest of the year and played his best footy for us there. We might've finished higher if this happened earlier in the year. Jake Granville continued to play second fiddle to McCullogh and only played 8 games before moving to the Cowboys were he fulfilled his potential. Griffin denied him opportunities here and Granville was always someone who i've had time for and deserved to play more here. Recruitment; Ben Barba and Martin Kennedy were signed on big money and both played poorly with Kennedy being the worst of the lot making no impact and was a huge waste of time but I never had any time for him and always thought he was hopeless. Barba bombed badly but found some touch at the back end of the year but was a pretty much a bust and never came close to his 2012 form. Daniel Vidot though paid off as he was one of our best in 2014 and had a strong all round season. Stewart Mills, Todd Lowrie, Zach Strasser, Darren Nichols and Marmin Barba was the rest of a disappointing recruitment drive that didn't deliver. Verdict; Rebounding from 12th the previous year and making the finals is an achievement so i'll give him credit. Scoring the 4th most points is pretty good for a team that came 8th. 2 of the big signings that the team was going to be built around bombed so that took a lot of shine of the recruitment drive as apart from Vidot none of them really kicked on despite Lowrie playing 18 games. He could've handled the halves and Granville situation a lot better as well, but I thought he did a decent job last year all things considered. I'll give his 2014 year a 5/10
