Nobody could have predicted the game to go the way it did. I thought for sure this would be one of those games that would go to the final whistle and we'd sneak over for a memorable victory. Instead, everything that could go the Broncos way did and it was one of the best Broncos performances of all-time. I'm a big believer in creating your own luck and that's what the Broncos did. They were committed to every single play and were prepared to go over and beyond for their team mates. There were so many moments you could almost write a book on all the big plays for the Broncos and all the important performances. I can't think of one player who didn't contribute. Even Nikorima off the bench had some great touches to help keep the Chooks scoreless in the second half. It was a dream start. SKD basically gifted us 6 points before some sublime play from Kahu got Brisbane an early double. I must say, it really ticked me off the way Sterlo tried to portray that as a mistake from RTS as opposed to a good play from Kahu. I get that he was trying to find a pattern but it was nearly as big of a stretch as Kahu's. Again, super play and try #100 continues to elude Hodges. Then the McCullough try...WOW. The Broncos have scored some magnificent tries but that may just be my favourite of 2015. Not only due to the skill level, the effort and so on but just the tactics on show. This wasn't ad-lib, do your best stuff. This was something the Broncos identified at the start of the week and executed to perfection. THAT'S why the team is going to be playing October football. Even the final try to Oates was a beauty. If Hunt gets the pass wrong, the Roosters go 90m and we're looking at one of the biggest chokes in club history. Hunt summed it up beautifully and Oates knows how to find the try line. I could keep going on and on but it was sublime by the packs and just as good from the forwards. Forwards were the heroes for mine. Adam Blair...look I got stuck into him on here at the start of the season and I'll cop that I was wrong. I will say that if you looked at my posts on another website, you could see I was quietly confident in that pick-up and thought it'd give Brisbane another potentially good middle forward. When everyone was bagging him, I stayed quiet because I could see the things Morkel was talking about and so could a bunch of other Broncos fans who don't frequent these parts. Tonight was the culmination of all that. He took all the things, all those 1%ers and applied it to his work. Some of the subtleties to his game, the way he'd position his body to pass, to find his front and so on were unreal and he was just on another level. He had great support though and I can't fault any of them. They all did their job and a few even did more than I ever expected. Dodds, Wallace & Ofahengaue...all impressive. I just keep thinking back to Round 1. With that virus that was going around the city, all the sick Broncos fans at a packed extremely stuffy stadium watching their team get belted by a premiership team...and walking away knowing that would be us someday. Folks...we won't have to wait much longer.
