Still, it would have been nice to see Matt used in a role that would have suited him more... I think I would have given my MotM to Brett Morris. Scored two tries, came up with two big defensive plays and handled the Kiwis kicking game very well. Technically it's only been two games for DCE but considering he's simply playing the same role Cronk did back in 2010-11, really you're right. Still, he may have had a point if only because Sheens kept DCE out of the game until the final 8 minutes, basically admitting that he was only there as a contingency selection. To a certain extent, although even then I don't think that combination has been all that good for the Kiwis in the past. I haven't really had the interest to sit down and analyse it, but it just seems like they stifle each other more often than not. Still, as you pointed out, for defensive purposes alone, Foran would have been a nice improvement. That was Ben Henry wasn't it? I thought he did a good job too and worked nicely enough with Havili. Agree on Hiku, his hands let him down at crucial moments. Don't know if playing him out-wide would have fixed things for him per say, but I see RTS as the future and better player regardless. Moa is the man. Right up there as one of the most underrated players in the game and would go close to my ideal 17. I just like the way he plays, no thrills he just runs extremely hard and has an ideal shape for a prop where he's built low to the ground. Bromwich was great too and I liked what I saw of Taupau. When the Kiwis were desperately looking for somebody to inspire them, I thought Marty stepped up for them. If nothing else, I'm glad this game existed for a guy like him. It wasn't too long ago he was getting all these wraps for chasing down Gagai in that Junior Test match and it seems like he's finally living up to them after some injuries and issues at Canterbury.
