I found the whole thing a bit odd as Clifford was regarded a long term half for the cowboys, then all of a sudden they're happy for him to leave ... that to me suggested it was Payten who was happy to let him go... only for him to then backflip and say you can go, but not until after 2021... just seemed a dick move for a player that he didn't really ever want.
