I think Tesi's mindset will be different coming into this year. Last year he was shifted over to center and Isaako was ahead of him.... and then when he wasnt cutting it at center he was dropped back to ISC. It's concerning that he somewhat dropped his head after being sent back to ISC, but at least when he was given a chance back in NRL and at his preferred position he was able to hold onto it through performances. This year he comes in as first choice fullback. - Isaako is gone next year - Herbie has been getting flagged as a contender, but he was as well last year and was beaten out by Tesi and Isaako - Cobbo is the next young stud coming through but he is just as capable at center or wing... as is Herbie... and can therefore be accommodated in the lineup (ie. picking your best 17 and finding them a spot) So from that perspective Tesi comes in and has little pressure coming for his position specifically... that can let him focus entirely on his game without looking over his shoulder. I'm interested to see how he goes without that pressure.... I think that can be important for a young guy trying to learn his trade. Pressure for positions is important, but when you're trying to learn how to play against the big boys and getting shuffled around, it's like the pressure that builds up in the Aust cricket team... every failure could be your last. He knows Cobbo is a possibility to take his spot in the future, he knows Walsh is looking to come home and he knows Ponga is every chance of moving if it comes to it.... but none of those moves are happening this year, so he pretty well has full ownership of the position this year, it's on him to not **** it up. He will be an important cog in the team this year as we will need attacking spark from our 6 and 1, and Reynolds works best digging into the line and creating space for the outside men.... he has to be able to finish off those movements and get the ball to the attacking threats
