Turpin tried hard, but I just don't see that spark from him we need, that was even more evident in contrast with Mahoney. TPJ I thought played within himself, particularly in defence, but you can hardly blame the bloke. We looked really good on attack in large sections, with a lot more shape and intent than we have shown for years. There were still a few moments where we were attacking inside the twenty and looked a bit disorganised, but it was thankfully the exception rather than the incontrovertible law it has been. Defence was better, but I'd have liked to see more speed off the line, particularly after Parra's forwards started to really get a roll on early in that second half. Part of that may have been injury-related fatigue, of course, but even so it's an area for improvement.
