I think the Turpin no try is a 50/50 you live with. What was really dissappointing was the Ferguson try. It's a clear knock-on that wasnt even questioned. But in the end, that's football. What will bee important is how we approach round 2. They were obviously pumped for round 1, but if they are any chance they will need to put that kind of effort back-to-back weekly, and that's a lot to ask. Turpin especially, has set himself a huge precedent and I wouldn't be surprised we have a utility for round 2, just so he doesn't run himself into the ground. I was fine with milf taking the chances when he did as we behind, chasing the game, with the petrol tank empty. He also needs to be smart enough (or more likely listen to Alfie when he tells him to) to dial it back and use the corners like we did towards the end more often if we are in front. It will go against his nature, but that is what a mature playmaker needs to do. Play the game the opponents don't want you to. A steady supply of the ball in hand is vital in this new era, and teams in front need to learn to treasure possession and territory. Too often we get caught in the corners and too little our opponents. Tonight we were much better but there is still work to do, along with lazy defenders not following the point of contact when off the ruck. Our defenders outside the point of contact, as opposed to those tackling need to be aware of second phase play. That is what cost us. Second phase from offloads and broken tackles needs to be addressed because more often than not we tend to go to sleep as the players make contact, believing the work is done. Rushing defence is great but that concentration is more important.
