When I was listening to the Wayne Bennett press conference he mentioned how a long stoppage in play halts any momentum and results in both teams having to reset and get back into the arm wrestle, specifically citing the refs going back several plays to put a player on report for a previous incident the bunker picks up. I thought when TPJ was put on report it was a total reset of the game. You could see everyone on the field was totally confused by it all and then all of a sudden everyone was marched 70m upfield and the ball was given back to Manly for a touch finder. The score was only 6-0 at that point and I thought we were just settling into the grind and we were about to get the ball back from a manly knock on. Instead we had to give the ball back to them, most players were probably still confused about what had just happened and how could that be considered a reportable offense. DCE kicks the ball close to the 50m line on the touch finder and all of a sudden manly get to reset in prime attacking position. We were unable to adapt, reset and get back into the grind, and conceded the horrible Keppie try soon after the play restarted. Pretty sure everything collapsed from that point onwards. Looking at the play by play on NRL.com TPJ was put on report at the 20min mark and it doesn't look like we saw the ball again until maybe the 27th minute (there's a break from the 26th minute until a Turbo linebreak in the 29th minute). We needed to be better after the TPJ incident, but instead we reverted to 2020 broncos and 10min later we were down 18-0 and the game was gone.
