PARRAMATTA EELS 30 (French 2, Gutherson, Radradra tries; Gordon 7/7 goals) defeated SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS 12 (Johnston, Brown tries; Walker 2/2 goals) Radradra posted a try of the season contender in an otherwise forgettable evening at ANZ. In the dying stages of the game, Keary threw a desperate cut-out pass intended for Aaron Gray only for Radradra to swoop and produce a breathtaking piece of play. The result sees South Sydney drop to 13th place on the ladder, a position they haven't found themselves in since 2008. To add insult to injury, rookie centre Siosifa Talakai had to be assisted off the field in the 77th minute for what appeared to be a serious injury. Souths started the evening well, shifting the ball, enabling Alex Johnston to slice through the defence but couldn't sustain the intensity through out the 80 minutes. A soft try to Clinton Gutherson who was able to gather a kick unopposed and score underneath the uprights highlighted Souths mental aptitude and lackthereof. The Eels followed that up with a well rehearsed outside inside ball play that saw lightening quick Bevan French jot down in the corner. The Eels looked like they would go into the break with all the running, but Luke Keary was able to break free and put the much maligned Nathan Brown in under the posts to narrow the lead by two. With the game in the balance, Cameron McIness came up with an embarrassing error at the scrumbase and the Eels were able to capitilise on the next play, with Radradra racing across field to put French over for his second. In the end, it was another bittersweet night for the Eels, virtually playing for pride at this point while Souths will look to the foot of the mountains for survival.
