Let's take a look see at the weekend ahead. Friday night and it's Wayne's World kicking off with his current club Newcastle taking on the Sydney Roosters. Newcastle will be without Darius Boyd, Kurt Gidley, Akuila Uate and could be missing Jake Mamo. On the plus side, they welcome in Sione Matai'utia, who? Only one of the best talents in the entire NYC and the best back in the competition rivalled only by Watene-Zelezniak who spends most of his time at Windsor. Never the less, keep an eye on this kid. I doubt he'll be able to replicate what Boyd offers the Knights but the kid is choc filled with talent and has dominated every age group he's ever come up against, I wouldn't be surprised if he turns some heads tonight. I also don't mind his brother Chanel Matai'utia who will play ahead of Uate. What he lacks in athleticism he makes up in footy smarts and he may turn out to be a safer option here than Akuila who has been very rocks and diamonds this year. It's still going to be a tough night at the office for Knights and it's tough envisioning them being able to handle the ferocity of the Roosters pack which really are nicely balanced. Players like Guerra, SBW and Cordner run great lines and know how to hit holes while JWH, Moa and Napa can cart the ball forward mercilessly. If they're on song, they should have too much for the Knights up-front but they'll have to be on because I think the Roosters are deceptively weak. I'm going Roosters here, by about 16 to turn the pressure valve up on Wayne. Next up we have Benny's future club the Broncos hosting the Storm in a pivotal match that will have major ramifications on both teams chances of making the finals. Brisbane come off a gutsy victory against the Warriors through some trademark 2014 play from star half Ben Hunt and a few changes to their side like Ben Barba to five eighth, Josh Hoffman to fullback but the key for mine was Dale Copley at centre. Melbourne will have to keep an eye on him and try to make life as difficult as possible to make him earn any of his opportunities tonight. Melbourne on the other hand for the first time in a long time get to keep their spine together, they're looking fit, healthy and keen to rip in at their second home. Compare the teams on paper and you'd think these three would be the key since they ask so many questions of the defence and move the ball so well between each other but if Brisbane can gain the upper hand in the ruck, they maybe able to exploit the weaknesses which have been apparant all season for the Storm, particularly down that left hand fringe of theirs with Roberts, Fonua and Koroibete. Brisbane have played in plenty of blockbusters this season and I don't expect anything different here, I suspect given the emotion of Hook's departure they may give Hook that first elusive win over the Storm in a tight one. I also predict that 39 ***** will be said in the Game Day thread.
