Last Friday's clash against the Eels was the final nail in the Sea Eagles coffin. They did well to resurrect their season, the Round 19 victory against the Warriors in particular has to go down as a highlight of their season, but when Martin Taupau hit Bevan French off the ball, it effectively cost them two competition points. I still have a ton of question marks surrounding the Bulldogs, especially after the Cowboys put 36 on them two weeks ago, but I think Des will have them up for this game and they'll go 3/3 against some of the competition's lesser lights. I'll probably be away all day on Saturday, but one game I'm really looking forward to is Wests v Gold Coast. It essentially is a play-off for a finals spot and with so many stars involved it's difficult not to be interested in the clash. Watching the Titans last week, I do have concerns that they may have peaked too early. They were very lethargic last week and seemed more disorganized than usual with the return of Hayne. In a lot of ways, the performance was to be expected, but the Titans will have to adapt to what Hayne offers. While I believe his signing will be huge in the long run, I do expect some teething issues and it will be interesting to see how he gels on Saturday. Then on Monday, the big top 4 clash Canberra v Melbourne. Once again, I have to question the wisdom of Channel 9 and how they could allow a side like Parramatta to feature on primetime and not two Top 4 sides. I'm sure people are sick of seeing me harp on it, but I just want to capture the extent of this problem. Canberra for mine are the form team of the competition at the moment and while I still have question marks over their players performing under pressure, could be real dark horses come September. Ricky could not ask for a better lead up to the finals, so he's got to make it count. Meanwhile, for Bellamy it's another year, another chance at glory. Ever since he joined the Storm, it's been like clockwork for Craig and that's why the Storm continue to be so successful. They know what works and they rarely stray from the task at hand. Again, it's such a shame we have to wait so long to watch this clash, I would have loved watching this on Friday night, as I can't wait to see how both teams handle this clash. Canberra have all but cemented an unlikely spot in the Top 4, while Melbourne are on track to equalising their 2007 regular season success. Considering that side included names like Slater, Inglis, King, Folau, Hoffman, Crocker etc. it's a testament to Munster, Vunivalu, Koroibete, Bromwich, Harris, Finucane etc.
