I was miffed at first with Morgan's selection but came around when I thought more on it. He was in arguably better form than Hunt at the time, was more versatile and had a established combination with JT so he had a lot going for him. Dex also made a lot of good points around that time. I don't necessarily believe Morgan has a mortgage on the position, but I can't begrudge the selectors going with him last year or even this year. While on the subject (of Morgan), I don't know if I'd use Friday's game as an instance of Morgan taking JT's place. If there was one player who got things rolling for the Cowboys, it was Jake Granville who was electric out of dummy half and justified Green's decision to start him off the bench. Then in the second half, it was JT's freakish kick for the posts that changed the complexion of the contest. I couldn't see any of our halves coming up with that play in that position, it was glorious and there was nothing anyone of us could do but applaud it. Morgan did well running off of Granville and JT, but I didn't think he led from the front or anything. If anything, I think a lot of credit has to go to Green who has figured out that it can't all be about JT. Like Bennett tried in 2006, he's given guys like Coote, Granville and Morgan more responsibility so JT can chime in with the finishing touches that no other team can compete with. In saying that, there was something poetic about Milford beating him to set up Roberts. JT was quick to annoit him as his heir, make of that what you will.
