The fact he can cut it as 5/8 on occasions is neither here nor there. He is not the game manager we need. He is the running FB we need, one that can execute everything Boyd can and a whole lot more, like being dangerous in attack, almost Tedesco-like over the 1st 10m. For mine Boyd to 5/8 - at least he can organise, and being in the middle with the captaincy and that responsibility will force him to do it ... or just retire.
