I hope Green is rewarded tonight and Tabuai-Fidow and Gilbert have big games. I thought he did an excellent job in his first two years as coach getting the most out of the juniors that were there and bringing in a few prospects with him from Sydney and Wynnum but he's fallen asleep at the wheel. I wonder if it's due to a disconnect between the scouts and the coach? The scouts give them players who are talented enough, but really don't fit his system? I thought the Warriors made some good strides this week setting up base in Queensland. Australian clubs have been taking the best prospects out of NZ before Auckland were even around, they need to take some back and I think NZ have had a lot of success in the past with Queensland talent. Players like Jacob Lillyman, Michael Luck, Nathan Fien, Brent Webb, Kevin Campion, Mark Tookey were all players who gave the club some much needed character and of course Pricey had some great years as well. They've got some quality Rugby League people involved at the club and while they're struggling now the belief is that in 3 years time they'll be a consistent presence in the Top 8. Looking forward to Eels vs. Panthers. I was doing an exercise earlier in the week and by my count the Eels have produced 13 players with NRL experience, while Penrith have 36 (second to Brisbane). It really highlights the different philosophies and how well the Eels have recruited in recent years. I prefer the Panthers because I appreciate their ability to produce talent, but I much prefer how the Eels play. Interesting battle between Moses and Cleary coming up. Before Clearly recovered at the 11th hour to take his place in the 2018 series, I thought Moses would be a walk up start based on his work with Freddy during the 2017 World Cup. Then again, I also thought they'd go with a defensive middle in Alvaro and now he can't even crack it in the NRL.
