If you look at the way we attack everything we do as a team is disjointed apart from the one out hit ups. And it gets worse when we tire. If you looked at our defence at the beginning and the end there is no comparison. So that too goes to pieces as we tire. We need to play the game on our terms but I'm just not sure we have the experience or intelligence to pull that off. I believe croft is the right man for the job but needs to understand when to take a risk and when it is better not to. Milford has never learned this so it is pointless to try with him. What to do about our situation? We need to understand that at this stage of their careers the majority of our players are going to make more mistakes and be less fit than their opponents. Drilling the defence would be good but that ship has sailed for this season. In any event if we keep playing footballers out of the position they trained for it wouldn't matter. I'm not sure what it is we have worked on in the break. Those kicks to coates were great, but not exactly scripted. We had Shepard's, no sheparding, player hanging back, and players not hanging back. Same with our sweep plays. Our defence is rushing up one week and sliding the week before. They are young players who get tired and will make mistakes. Give them a few simple plans and let them perfect them. Pick your spine and try and stick with it. When you change a player for another, have them train as their shadow. Lastly, if we are going down the route Bellamy do it right and make sure there are only a select few who change the plan and tactics. They should be judge, jury and executioner on every play. Everyone else is effectively a robot with a pre-planned set of instructions. Every one is on the same page attack and defence. It's a boring style of play, but we have picked that type of coach, and the storm have taught us that if done right it works. So make it work.
