I agree with so much of what you have expressed here matey. NSWRL are paranoid of Brisbane. They live in hope that their areas of population will somehow find a new found love of the game if only they can make it appealing. So The fairlytale Dragons GF win even though the club never looked like winning one and haven't looked like winning one since. Cronulla's win was to satisfy their long suffering fans and was so fixed. Then there is Melbourne who are either winning it every year or at least playing in the final to try and keep the Victorians interested. Everyone south of the border like nothing more than to see the Broncos get pumped. The parochial commentary teams are just a symptom of them all being based in Sydney, they think it's only Sydney fans watching. Last night's stitch up was so transparent despite our own guys turning in some dumb plays in the second half. Nevertheless, Boyd's no try resulted in them marching down field on the back of a few penalties and a 6 again call to score which was effectively a ten point turnaround just before halftime. I knew then Desy was getting his two points come the end of the night and when DCE missed his field goal it was so obvious Manly were getting that penalty right in front of the sticks. The simultaneous grab has for several years now been restarted by just giving the player in possession the ball back. Manly's first captains challenge was ruled to be poor ball security by Klein, but the video ref overturned him and said Flegs played at the ball. Now even if he did ( he never he was totally unsighted).. even if he did - Klein called it a penalty for poor ball security so there should have been no argument. The video ref made a completely different call when all he was asked to check if there was poor ball security. Absolute bollocks. When Boyd's try was disallowed, Klein again had ruled a try. Everyone in the Ch 9 team agreed for an instant and then realized it was the Broncos and so said virtually nothing when it was overturned. The same when MILF kicked a 40/20 and it was ignored. They commentary team decided not to dwell on that major blue either. If the club wants to keep their fanbase they need to risk the $10K fine and start to point this shit out while they are being recorded live. If they dont - it will continue ad infinitum resulting in the club slowly dying a long drawn out death. MILFS first tackle of the night was a full on body slam and no sign of arm grabbing. I think he has been unfairly bagged. he can only do something once his halves partner gets the team to an organised attacking position. There was not much of that happening in the second half. His kick for Coatsy's try was inch perfect and was one of the highlights of the night. I even thought Boyd lifted last night but must surely still be on his final warning.
