The Broncos are so obsessed with the middle, the decision to shift one of the more skillful players in Pangai Jr made a ton of sense. The Broncos have really struggled to generate momentum in the middle with too many lumbering runs, Pangai's explosive running made a big difference. I also thought the bench was better. Paix, Te'o and Hopoate all made positive contributions and brought a lot of energy onto the field which they've been missing. Flegler showed what he's capable of when he came on, but he was also very loose which is something he needs to fix up. A few moments that stood out to me... - Croft going second man to Niu, Niu realising the Bulldogs had the numbers and throwing a great pass back in the middle and giving Milford a chance to earn a repeat set in broken play. It's these type of combinations the Broncos have been lacking and it's nice to see some semblence of progress. - Darius Boyd's try saver after Isaako let the ball bounce. Good situational awareness from Darbs, but I also think this is the frame of reference a lot of fans are using in regards to Niu's speed. Based on what I've seen of him at the Magpies, he's got good speed off the mark and gets on the outside of his players easily, but I've never seen him put on the after-burners like Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow. I don't know if this was a fair reference since he was tripped early and was hearded into Marshall-King by Wakeham but for fans who were a bit blindsided by Dex, there you go. - The lead up to the Isaako try. The Broncos had fallen into a bit of a hole and they were lucky Montoya didn't take the ball cleanly or get a clean bat back for To'omaga. Instead, it appeared to come forward off Montoya, To'omaga missed the ball and Niu found the ball into some space. A couple of plays later, one of Milford's play three kicks finally comes off and Isaako showed some speed I didn't think he had. Crichton is no slouch either. The try was just what the Broncos needed and they coasted from there. However, there were still some anxious moments that a better team would have capitilised on.
